Jasna Alpine Botanical Garden

A nature corner adorns the terrace of the JASNA Chalet Resort, overlooking the mighty Alpine scenery, Lake Jasna and the Pišnica River, at an altitude of around 800 metres. The location on the edge of the Julian Alps, just a stone's throw from the entrance to the Triglav National Park, gives it a special significance and exceptional natural value.

A rockery with larger carbonate rocks from the local environment, placed next to the terrace, is home to many perennials, energy plants and medicinal plants that do not need much water and thrive in cooler, sunny or semi-shaded environments. 

The garden's special charm lies in its seasonal dynamics: in spring, visitors will be delighted by the spring foxglove, the bluish-coloured elm, the fritillaries and the fritillaries. Later on, the flowers will bloom with pansies, mayflowers, alpine forget-me-nots, yellow buttercups, carnations, nettles and homunculus. In autumn, the mountain meadow will attract attention, while the buttercups will adorn the rockery with their leaves throughout the year. Among the woody species, the typical conifer of the Alpine world, the Scots pine, will make its presence felt.

Special attention is also paid to medicinal plants, which are highly valued in the Alpine world. Most of the species also thrive in the Julian Botanical Garden in Trento, further linking these two important botanical centres and giving the garden at Jasná a special professional background and authenticity.
