On a sunny Thursday afternoon, 18.6.2025, the new Jasna Restaurant - dishes of three countries, which will combine the flavours of Slovenia, Austria and Italy with its culinary offer, reopened after 20 years in the heart of the Alpine fairy tale by the Jasna lake. As the first part of the new Jasna Natur resort concept. The event was marked by emotional warmth, artistic music, heartfelt speeches and the courage of Dominik S. Černjak, the visionary and director of the family business that has built a new chapter in this once forgotten location.
The story of Jasná began in 1929, when the area became a well-known mountain bathing site and a starting point for hiking tours. At that time, a picturesque inn grew up right next to the water, and quickly became a centre of socialising with its homely atmosphere and live music. During the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, King Peter II is said to have visited the area . Karađorđević, who set off from these places in August 1939 with his Sokol comrades on his historic ascent of Triglav.
After decades of growth and then oblivion, when Jasna was closed and abandoned for years, history respectfully continues today.
The concept of "Three Countries Dining" is based on the idea of connecting people, stories and tastes. In collaboration with top chef Uroš Štefelin and under the guidance of the experienced team of chef Miljan Radulović and renowned creators Dušan Veršec and Gordana Miletić, plates are created that tell the story of the cultural richness and culinary diversity of the Alpine region. The focus is on seasonal ingredients, local authenticity and simplicity that delights - both the eyes and the heart.
Veal roast, Goljat farm chicken breast, Šlibar farm polenta with pancetta and goat cheese, chicken soup with carrots and noodles from the Lužar Bakery, linguini with tomatoes and buratta, real veal "dunajc" and warm apple "strudel" or delicious tiramusu are all part of the traditional Sunday lunches or tasting evening menus. And pet-friendly.
Restaurant Jasna also offers something special - a phone-free dining concept, where guests check in their devices in the "house of silence" and completely devote themselves to the company, food and nature. In return, they get what no app can replace - uninterrupted presence. For their courage, children receive pancakes of their choice and adults a bottle of house wine, not as a reward, but as a symbol of new connectedness.
The event was enriched by Petra Vidmar, Tadej Tomšič on saxophone and DJ Boštjan with a sensually dressed Slovenian folk song and a unique performance of the Bongo Song with water percussion and playing on the "squeakers".
Among the guests of honour were the Minister of Economy, Tourism and Sport Matjaž Han, the Director of the Directorate for Tourism at MGTŠ Dubravka Kalin, the Director of Tourism Kranjska Gora Luka Vrančič, the ski jumping ace Domen Prevc, the designer Natalija Mesojedec, Jasminka Maksimović, the long-standing manager of the catering industry, Bojan Lavriha, the main developer of the works, and many other creators, performers and local supporters of the project.
The emotional highlight of the evening was the symbolic handing over of the Redbull GoniPony bicycle with which Domen Prevc took Vršič this year to the future generation of Jasna, his sons Leon Svit Černjak and Nik Sol Černjak. With the best wishes for Jasna to combine tourism and sport at the highest level, Domenik Prevc presented his record-breaking starting number from this year's Planica to the Jasna team and to Dominik S. Černjak, the visionary of the whole project, who with his team designed the first alpine climate resort in Slovenia in ten years - JASNA NATUR Resort.
Among the achievements of the first ten years of Jasna's sustainable revitalisation, he pointed out that the greatest achievement is the Jasna team, whose core has been together from the very beginning and together has overcome all the challenges so far.
More than a restaurant - a meeting place and a place of energy
The Jasna Restaurant is part of the new Jasna Natur Resort philosophy, based on nature, holistic well-being and respect for local heritage. A special symbol of the new beginning is the amethyst, placed in the space as a stone of harmony and spiritual energy. In the future, it will form the core of the planned Alpine Crystal Wellness.
