Opening of Gostilna Jasna - dishes of three countries
A new culinary story has come to life in Kranjska Gora: The opening of Gostilna Jasna - dishes of three countries
JASNA NATUR Resort; Kranjska Gora, June 18, 2025
On a sunny Thursday afternoon, June 18, 2025, in the heart of the Alpine fairy tale by Lake Jasna, after 20 years, the new Gostilna Jasna – dishes of three countries – was ceremoniously opened again. With its culinary offerings, it will combine the flavors of Slovenia, Austria, and Italy. This marks the first part of the new Jasna Natur Resort concept. The event was characterized by emotional warmth, artistic music, heartfelt speeches, and the brave visionary and director of the family business that built a new chapter for this once-forgotten location, Dominik S. Černjak.
The story of Jasna began as early as 1929, when the area became a renowned mountain bathing resort and a starting point for hiking tours. At that time, a picturesque guesthouse grew right by the water, which quickly became a social hub with its homely atmosphere and live music. During the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, King Peter II Karađorđević is said to have visited these parts, embarking from here in August 1939 with his Sokol comrades on his historic ascent of Triglav.
After decades of growth and then neglect, when Jasna was closed and abandoned for many years, its history respectfully continues today.
The concept of “Dishes of Three Countries” is based on the idea of connecting people, stories, and flavors. In collaboration with top chef Uroš Štefelin and under the guidance of the experienced team led by Chef Miljan Radulović, along with acclaimed creators Dušan Veršec and Gordana Miletić, dishes are created that tell tales of the cultural richness and culinary diversity of the Alpine region. The emphasis is on seasonal ingredients, local authenticity, and simplicity that delights – both the eyes and the heart.
Veal roast, Goljat farm chicken breast, Šlibar farm polenta with pancetta and goat cheese, chicken soup with carrots and Lužar Bakery noodles, linguini with tomato and burrata, authentic veal "Wiener Schnitzel" and warm apple "strudel" or delicious tiramisu – all available as part of traditional Sunday lunches or tasting dinner menus. And pet-friendly.
Restaurant Jasna also offers something special – a phone-free dinner concept, where guests, upon arrival, deposit their devices in a "silence hut" and fully dedicate themselves to company, food, and nature. In return, they receive what no app can replace – uninterrupted presence. Children receive pancakes of their choice for their courage, while adults receive a bottle of house wine, not as a reward, but as a symbol of new connection.
The event was enriched by Petra Vidmar, Tadej Tomšič on saxophone, and DJ Boštjan, with a soulfully reinterpreted Slovenian folk song and a unique performance of Bongo song featuring water percussion and playing on "pots".
Among the esteemed guests were Matjaž Han, Minister of Economy, Tourism and Sport, Dubravka Kalin, Director of the Tourism Directorate at the MGTŠ, Luka Vrančič, Director of Tourism Kranjska Gora, ski jumping ace Domen Prevc, designer Natalija Mesojedec, Jasminka Maksimović, long-time head of hospitality, Bojan Lavriha, main contractor, and numerous other creators, performers, and local project supporters.
A poignant highlight of the evening was the symbolic handover of Domen Prevc's Red Bull GoniPony bicycle, with which he conquered Vršič this year, perhaps to the future generation of Jasna, his sons Leon Svit Černjak and Nik Sol Černjak. With best wishes for tourism and sport to connect at the highest level in Jasna, Domen Prevc donated his record-breaking start number from this year's Planica to the dedicated Jasna team and to Dominik S. Černjak, the visionary of the entire project, who, with his team, designed the first Alpine climatic resort in Slovenia – JASNA NATUR Resort over ten years.
Among the achievements of the first ten years of Jasna's sustainable revitalization, he highlighted that the greatest accomplishment is the Jasna team itself, whose core has been together from the very beginning and has weathered all challenges to date.
More than an inn - a place of encounters and energy
Restaurant Jasna is part of the new philosophy of Jasna Natur Resort, which is based on nature, holistic well-being, and respect for local heritage. A special symbol of this new beginning is amethyst, placed in the space as a stone of harmony and spiritual energy. In the future, it will represent the core of the planned Alpine Crystal Wellness.
Welcome to Restaurant Jasna – Dishes of Three Countries, where flavors meet tradition and the future.
